Sven Goran Eriksson Taunts Steven Gerrard

FORMER England boss Sven Goran Eriksson claims Steven Gerrard will never win the Premier League with Liverpool.

Eriksson has not been impressed by Liverpool’s start to the season under new boss Brendan Rodgers.

And he reckons time is running out for 32-year-old England skipper Gerrard to win a title at Anfield.

Eriksson, 64, said: “Steven Gerrard is ‘Mr Liverpool’ and he has won the Champions League, Super Cup, FA Cup and League Cup with them.

“But will he ever win a Premier League title?

‘‘As things look now, absolutely not.

“A lot of things have to change at Liverpool for that to happen.

‘‘The American owners have to give more money and buy the right players.

“They have a good coach in Brendan Rodgers but the players did anything but play well together.

“I don’t begrudge a good guy like Steven winning the Premier League, but maybe he needs to change clubs if he wants to have that title.

“Both my dad and I have been Liverpool fans since the club’s heyday in the 1980s but the Liverpool we see today is far from the top level.’’
