Liverpool defender Jose Enrique says that the club want to play 'like Barcelona' this season - as if there were any lingering doubts over Brendan Rodgers' preferred tactics after the club's 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
Rodgers' Swansea side earned the nickname 'Swansalona' in their debut Premier League season last campaign, and the Reds played in a similar manner against the champions, passing at all costs and pressing high up the pitch.
Enrique, 26, insists the club will continue to try and emulate the style of the four-time Champions
League winners, despite defensive errors marring their performance at Anfield.
'The best team in the world is the best example: Barcelona. You could see against Real Madrid a few days ago, how when they have the ball it is amazing and when they lose it, within three or four seconds they have it back,' the Spaniard told ESPN.
'This is the way we try to play. We can’t compare with Barcelona they are different, but we are trying to play like this. We are starting to learn but we are learning well.'
