West Ham chairman David Gold has hinted that striker Andy Carroll is not far from a first team return, although the Hammers’ weekend Premier League clash against QPR may come too soon for the England international.
Carroll is on a season-long loan at Upton Park from Liverpool, but is currently sidelined through injury.
The former Newcastle hitman has shown promising signs of form during his time in a West Ham shirt so far and boss Sam Allardyce will be keen to have him back at his disposal as soon as possible.
