Raul Meireles has joined former Liverpool teammate Dirk Kuyt at Fenerbahçe.
Meireles is set to become Kuyt's neighbour in the Beykoz area of Istanbul. The pair played together for the Reds during the 2010-11 season.
The Portuguese international midfielder speaking to FB TV, said, "I had a great season playing at
Liverpool with Kuyt, he told me about Fenerbahçe and encouraged me to make the move."
Meireles won PFA Fans' Player of the Year in 2011 during his time playing at Liverpool.
The 29-year-old midfielder scored five times and made five assists for the Reds during the 2010-11 season before joining Chelsea on a €13.5 million move.
Meireles went on to help Chelsea lift the Champions League last season and win the FA Cup.
Fenerbahçe completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles for €10 million on a four-year contract last week.
Coincidently two Turkish players have now moved to Liverpool, Nuri Şahin and Samed Yeşil.
Şahin became the first Turkish player in club history to have played for the Reds when he made his debut last weekend against Arsenal.
