Andre Villas-Boas insists he will take his time before signing his next contract, with his comments coming in the wake of interest from Liverpool.
Villas-Boas, 34, has been out of work since being dismissed as
Chelsea manager in March following a run of disappointing results.
He has been heavily linked with the Liverpool job since
Kenny Dalglish was dismissed, and will reportedly meet
the Reds' owners next week for an interview.
However, he faces stiff competition from the likes of
Roberto Martinez - and even if Villas-Boas were offered the Liverpool post, there is no guarantee he would take it.
"I'm still choosing the right project and that decision will take the necessary time," he said, according to the
Independent.
Having seen Chelsea triumph in the Champions League final on Saturday under
Roberto Di Matteo, who worked as his assistant at Stamford Bridge, Villas-Boas said: "The biggest award is to win the Champions League. Congratulations to Di Matteo and the players."
