Liverpool heads into the most important week of the season desperate for a much-needed, morale-boosting victory at Norwich City. The Reds have won just three of their last fifteen league games, while Norwich could move level on points with Kenny Dalglish's team if it grabs the three points on offer Saturday.
Although all eyes are on the FA Cup final next week, the Reds' boss is focused solely on the two league games coming up before the final clash with
Chelsea.
"We'll concentrate on every game we've got before then and try our best to get what we can from them," Dalglish said. "Nobody's happy with the [league] results, but we've not been too disappointed with the performances."
Dalglish also had some kind words for fellow
Scot Paul Lambert.
"They play the way Paul Lambert has been brought up, through his career in Scotland and obviously in Germany.
"He's got his principles and beliefs from the places he's been, and it's a wee bit ironic that he got the job on the back of beating them 7-1 at Carrow Road. He's done a fantastic job.
"They've done fantastic in the Premier League, and they got back-to-back promotions to get there. "Paul spent very wisely in the summer and got a lot of decent players in."
Liverpool heads to Norfolk with the news midfielder
Charlie Adam won't feature any more this season. "There is no operation needed but he won't play this season," said Dalglish. "And I would think if they had any designs on having him in the Olympics he wouldn't be fit for that either."
The Reds meanwhile have been boosted with the news skipper
Steven Gerrard is available for selection. "He's fine, no problem," said the boss. "We said it was just a precaution so he's back training. He's been training all week, so there's no other problems." said Dalglish.
Paul Lambert’s side has a few absent players:
Marc Tierney (groin) misses the final three games having undergone surgery.
Former Red,
Daniel Ayala (hamstring) has been out of action since February, while another Anfield academy graduate,
Zak Whitbread, may return to the team after recovering from a calf problem.
