Midfielder Raul Meireles revealed that the decision to move from Liverpool to Chelsea is not based on money factor. Meireles is also denied allegations that he betrayed some circles.
Meireles has actually become an idol for supporters of
Liverpool. Surprisingly, the last day of the transfer market, the Portuguese midfielder chose to move to
Chelsea.
The Blues signed Meireles for four seasons with the contract of undisclosed value.
"These things happen in football. I just wanted to say something nice about Liverpool. I felt something fantastic for a year there," said Meireles to
RTPN.
"People think, I was Judas and the move because of money. Not because of it. I'll explain later. It all happened very quickly. I'm not the only one to blame for leaving Liverpool. However, I will not stop loving the club and I have many good friends there," he added.
