Less Rest, Lucas Ready Heritability

Despite the lack of rest this summer, Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva admitted very fit and ready to undergo the first day of the new Premier League season.

Brazilian international is indeed receive less vacation time as a member of The Reds squad after he defended the Selecao in the Copa America last July.

"I feel fit. I am not getting the full holiday and I trained with the national team. So, it will not be a problem for me to be lowered on Saturday," said Lucas told Liverpool's official website on Thursday.

The 25-year-old player also had played for 45 minutes as Liverpool face Valencia in a pre-season game won by The Reds 2-0 with a goal by Andy Carroll and Dirk Kuyt.

"I am very happy to be back and can not wait to start the new season. We are in a great passion at the moment and I hope we can start the season well on Saturday," he added.

On Saturday (13/8/2011), Kenny Dalglish care team will entertain Sunderland at Anfield Stadium in the Premier League first match 2011-2012 season.
