Liverpool striker Eccleston in investigation after comments on Twitter

Liverpool's young striker Nathan Eccleston was investigated by the relevant club statement on Twitter about the September 11 attacks.

20-year-old player was posting comments on Twitter on Sunday (11/09/2011), related to the 10th anniversary of the twin towers attacks in the United States.

"I ain't going to say attack don't let the media make u believe that was terrorist that did it. #OTIS." said Eccleston on Twitter.

He also makes references to OTIS, Only the Illuminati Succeed Success can mean only the Illuminati. The statement was later removed, but has a lot Retweet online.

"If you don't like what I have to say un follow me!! Some things get took way out of context..." Eccleston added.

Liverpool's main owners are from the United States John W. Henry, who is also the owner of Fenway Sports Group as well as having the Boston Red Sox Baseball clubs appearing in the U.S. competition may not be pleased with the news.

A club statement said: "The club takes this matter extremely seriously and senior club officials have informed Nathan Eccleston that we are undertaking an investigation into the circumstances surrounding these postings and will decide on an appropriate course of action."

Eccleston has never played for the first team this season. He made his first team debut in the Reds in a League Cup match against Arsenal in October 2009.
